RE: 'Disputes with Noel led to Alan's firing '
L4E is not able to verify the validity of this article which was emailed to me claiming the source to be AP London.
I have decided to pull it from the Newsroom . If anything changes I will post an update. Sorry for any confusion this might have caused .

Noel to drum on new album ?
NOELASIS
OASIS have kicked out drummer ALAN WHITE and replaced him with NOEL GALLAGHER.
That makes him guitarist, singer, songwriter and now king of the skins. It seems no ones job is safe at this rate by 2010 the band is going to look like my mock-up above. The four members, Noel, brother LIAM, ANDY BELL and GEM ARCHER fired Alan over claims he was not pulling his weight. Noel takes on his new, er, roll this Monday when the boys start work on their sixth studio album at a secret Cornish location.
Last night a group statement read: Alan White has been asked to leave Oasis by the other band members. There are no plans to replace Alan. The bands scheduled recording sessions remain unaffected. An industry insider told me: There was talk Alan had an injury and had to leave but the truth is there have been questions about his commitment. Noel cant be a***d with getting a new drummer when he knows he can do the job perfectly well himself. He thinks itll probably be the best drumming heard on any Oasis album. Alan is the second drummer the band have sacked since they burst on to the scene in 1994. He replaced TONY McCARROLL who was axed after their first year.
The unnamed album is being produced by indie dance duo RICHARD FEARLESS and STEVE HILLIER from DEATH IN VEGAS, whose Scorpio Rising album Liam sang on last year. When Oasis tour the as-yet-untitled album next year they will draft in a session musician to play on most of the tracks. But they are not ruling out the possibility of Noel doing a PHIL COLLINS and taking to the drums and singing.
I reckon he could do a convincing cover of LEO SAYERs One Man Band.

Band requests Alan to leave Oasis
From the official Oasis website Oasisinet :
Alan White has been asked to leave Oasis by the other band members. There are no plans to replace Alan. The band's scheduled recording sessions remain unaffected.
From NME.com :
ALAN WHITE'S DEPARTURE FROM OASIS CONFIRMED
ALAN WHITE is out of OASIS - and the band say they’ve asked him to leave.
The future of the drummer has been the subject of intense speculation all week after a tabloid newspaper claimed he was to quit the group because of problems with tendonitis.
White joined Oasis after original drummer Tony McCarroll was booted out before the recording sessions for classic second album ‘What’s The Story (Morning Glory)’ in 1995. White is the closest thing the Gallaghers have to a founder member besides themselves, having played on four albums and countless tours.
A spokesperson for the band contacted NME.COM today, and confirmed White had left the band.
She said:"Alan White has been asked to leave Oasis by the other band members. There are no plans to replace Alan. The band's scheduled recording sessions remain unaffected."
Oasis will release their new album later this year, possibly in September.

Injury forcing Alan White to quit Oasis
Drummed Out
Oasis are proving yet again that they're a real rock band by keeping up the great tradition of rock bands since rock began: changing drummers every few years. First they dumped Tony McCarroll, apparently because he had a perm. Now Alan White is quitting too.
Unusually for Oasis there are no reports of punch ups, fights and shouting matches accompanying the announcement. Alan's just knackered his hands and he needs to give his wrists a rest. And before you all start nudging each other and winking, he's hurt his wrists by holding his drum sticks wrong, alright!?
Alan had to step away from the drums and take a break during the band's last tour because of injury. His brother Steve briefly took over the beat duties, but whether he'll replace Alan full time remains to be seen.
*******
Terry Kirkbride first in line ?
Terry who drums for Proud Mary seems to be the most mentioned possible replacement for Alan White.
This little out take is from a Q magazine interview with Proud Mary :
Q. Who’s drumming for you now?
Spot: Terry Kirkbride is back with us now. He’s doing really well now, does all Noel's demos, plays with Weller, Daltry. Kelly Jones, Ashcroft. He deserves it, he’s a mint drummer and a top lad .
Other possible replacements in the rumor mill are Steve White ( Alan's brother) and Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey
who's been drumming for Johnny Mar in The Healers.
