Ringo on new Oasis album ?
Noel Gallagher, the man Oasis simply refer to as ‘The Guvnor’, has been talking exclusively to Xfm Online about Liam’s new songs, going out on tour again "sharpish" and recording with one of The Beatles.
Gallagher explained that Oasis are about to travel to Los Angeles to complete work on their highly anticipated, and as-yet-untitled new album, where (after the departure of drummer Alan White) the band will be enlisting the help of
former Beatle
Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey. Starkey filled the drum stool for the band’s recent Glastonbury Festival appearance, and Noel explained that he also wants Zak's father on the record too.
“Zak will drum on the bulk of it,” he explained to Xfm, “And we’re gonna try - while we’re out there - to get his Dad down the studio cos he lives in LA. So we’re gonna try and get him on cos we’ve got this one song which is quite… well, fucking funnily enough, it sounds like The Beatles, and we’re gonna try and get him and his Dad on the same track. Then again Ringo might just tell us to f**k off.”
Apart from Glastonbury and one-off concerts at Watford Colosseum and the Albert Hall, Oasis haven’t undertaken a fullUK tour since summer July 2002, but as soon as the album’s finished the band will definitely be hitting the road.
“To be honest,” Noel continued, “We spent that much money f**king pissing about on the new album we’ll be touring it for the next four years. So by the time this next album cycle comes around everyone will be sick to f**king death of Oasis. We’ll have to play London fifteen times I’d have thought, but we'll have to start doing gigs sharpish.”
As for the material on the new album, Noel has confirmed rumours that his brother, frontman Liam Gallagher, has been busy writing some impressive new songs.
“He [Liam] has been writing tonnes. He’s probably writing as we f**king speak. He’s written loads and loads and loads. He’s doing okay at the writing, he’s got a few belters. His songs are really coming on. Considering he can’t play a f**king note on the guitar he’s doing alright.”

Signed Backstage Passes on auction
Ian Brown’s tour manager Hugh Calder has announced he is auctioning signed singles and albums and backstage passes to every date of Ian Brown’s forthcoming sold-out tour to raise money for charity.
A pair of guest list, backstage and aftershow passes are available for each date as well as signed copies of current single ‘Keep What Ya Got’ and album ‘Solarized’ and each package is currently under auction at Ebay
The signed goods have also been signed by Noel Gallagher and were actually signed in the Xfm studios the day the pair dropped in on Sarah Darling and Music:Response for a live session.
Each set is currently retailing for between £100 and £200 with money raised from the auction going to First Opportunities, a special therapy playgroup for babies and children with special needs, currently under the threat of closure.
"The reason for this,” Calder explains on the site, “Both my children are at this school. And guest list and autographed promos cost me nothing. But the money raised from this auction is needed for my children and their classmates.
“There will be a collection box at the T-Shirt stall on the tour, please give what you can. Many thanks… H. Calder (Mr. Brown’s Tour Manager / Chief Chimp)
Bidding for the prizes ends on October 4
